Revolution Aerospace Australia – UAS Systems Engineer – sUAS News

Byadmin

Dec 16, 2024

RevAero supports a number of clients through our Systems Engineering capability, with a focus on Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) and the unique challenges and opportunities they bring. We’re looking to expand that capability as our clients continue to build out their own capabilities and seek additional suppport.

As a UAS Systems Engineer for RevAero’s client, you will be involved with developing engineering documentation and reports, assessing supplier/OEM designs, supporting verification and validation activities, developing technical risk assessments in support of system safety and operational approvals, developing design and integration plans and documentation, and more. As part of the broader RevAero team, you will have the opportunity to shape and contribute to UAS regulation, safety analysis, and operations, across military and civil applications. In this instance, we will support you with mentoring and guidance over an extended period of time to get you up to speed.

What you’ll bring

We want you to excel in the role from day one and we believe you will need the following skills. However, we also recognise that experience and mastery in skills can be gained in many forms, so we want to hear from you if you can demonstrate how you meet the following objectives in other ways:

Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree (or equivalent experience) in Aerospace, Aviation, Electronics/Electrical, or similar fields, with a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience.

A demonstrated ability to think outside the box and dig into the reason for industry norms (industry norms for UAS are few and far between – you will need to think laterally!).

Experience in the aviation sector, or a similar safety-critical industry, preferably with a focus on UAS.

If you don’t hold experience specifically with UAS, we will want to understand the steps you will take to familiarise yourself with this industry, the challenges being faced, the intricacies of small Size Weight and Power (SWaP) limitations, and many more unique aspects of UAS.

Experience within the ADF capability lifecycle.

A demonstrated ability to work autonomously and with only high-level guidance.

While you’ll be part of the RevAero team with this client and will receive support from the experience gathered to date, there is still significant ‘unchartered territory’ to be explored with military UAS acquisition and operation.

Holding a current/recent AGSVA security clearance is necessary.
