New Star Games has made another retro-style sports game which is about tennis. Retro Slam Tennis is their latest game. The studio, known for New Star Soccer, Retro Goal and Retro Bowl, has a pretty solid track record when it comes to turning sports into pixel-art experiences.
Game, Set, Match in Retro Slam Tennis
Apart from smacking the ball back and forth, Retro Slam Tennis is a fun game to try. You start from the bottom and work your way up. The game lets you compete on hard, clay and grass courts while managing everything from your training to your personal life.
You can hire coaches, take on their challenges, balance relationships with friends and family and even chase sponsors. So, you can splurge on some luxury items too if you want. And if things get too intense, just crack open a can of NRG and power through.
One of the more interesting aspects of Retro Slam Tennis is the social media element. As you know, in today’s world, it’s not enough to just win matches. You have to keep your followers happy too. It’s an RPG where your choices can shape your career.

It’s Now Available on Android Globally
Retro Slam Tennis is published by Five Aces Publishing and developed by New Star Games. The game landed on iOS regionally in July 2024. Now, it’s up for grabs on Android too and is free to play. It does have the same charm as Retro Bowl and Retro Goal.
Simon Read, the founder of New Star Games, says the game follows a similar formula to New Star Soccer. It blends arcade-style mechanics with a light-hearted simulation of an athlete’s career.
