Capcom’s as-yet unannounced Resident Evil 9 has the largest budget of any game in the series to date, according to well-known horror game insider Dusk Golem.Posting on Discord, the insider revealed that Resident Evil 9 has been in development since 2018, and will offer closure to the arc that started with Resident Evil 7 Biohazard. Furthermore, the game isn’t expected to see the light of day until at least 2025, which would put it out just ahead of the series’ 30th anniversary in 2026. Beyond that, Dusk Golem claims that Resident Evil 9 won’t be a direct follow-up to Resident Evil Village, but will rather stand on its own and introduce a brand new era for the long-running survival horror franchise.
