Resident Evil 4 Remake was an inevitable, and hugely sensitive remake in the path of Capcom’s efforts to bring the franchise into the modern gaming sphere.Arguably the best, and the biggest fan-favourite of the storied franchise, Resident Evil 4 was the one remake Capcom really could not afford to mess up, and we’ve known now for almost a year that not only did they not mess it up, it’s excellent. While the remake has enjoyed critical success, we have further confirmation from Capcom that it’s been a commercial success, as the game has hit 6.48 million copies sold globally since launch.“Further, Resident Evil 4, launched in March 2023, contributed to sales growth, reaching 6.48 million units cumulatively, supported by ongoing promotional measures including free title updates for PlayStation VR2.” said Capcom in its latest financial reports as we near the end of its current fiscal year. The last time we got a sales update for the remake of Resident Evil 4 was back in July 2023, where it had surpassed 5 million copies worldwide at the time.Which means that in that time, across the holiday season it was able to sell nearly another 1.5 million units.Source – [Capcom via Gematsu]
