Dan Smith, frontman of British rockers Bastille, has revealed he’s interested in scoring the as-yet unannounced Red Dead Redemption 3.Speaking with NME, Smith was asked what game series he’d be most interested in composing music for, to which he name-dropped Rockstar Games‘ Wild West epic.I want to make an epic score for Red Dead Redemption 3. think that’d be really fun – getting to knock about on a horse in the Wild West with some great music banging in the background.Elsewhere, he spoke about his love for the “old school Game Boy” and made it clear he’s a bit of a retro fan at heart.I played proper old school Mario. I loved that. I loved how punishingly brutal it was. If you fucked up, you just had to go back to the beginning. There was no saving where you were at… it was a real graft.As mentioned Rockstar hasn’t announced Red Dead Redemption 3 yet, and to be honest, it’s probably not going to be galloping into stores for years yet, if at all. Red Dead Redemption 2 came out in 2018, which is still relatively ‘new’ for a Rockstar title; it took eight years to come out after its predecessor, after all.Meanwhile, Rockstar is obviously busy with development of Grand Theft Auto 6, which itself won’t be out until around 2025 if we’re to believe the latest Internet gossip.The original Red Dead Revolver came out back in 2004 and was something of a cult hit, but 2010’s Red Dead Redemption cemented the brand as a certified gaming blockbuster.
