Global energy drink brand Red Bull has announced Red Bull Legends Inn, an Apex Legends duos tournament hosted by Red Bull Gaming ambassadors Timothy ‘iiTzTimmy’ An and Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen.

The event will take place on November 8th at the Godfrey Hotel in Chicago, Illinois, with 38 top Apex Legends players competing in front of a live crowd for its $25,000 (~£19,088.25) prize pool.

According to the tournament format, each pair will have to compete in eight rounds of in-game challenges, with lights going darker and darker as more teams are eliminated. Teams will earn points based on how long they survive and the number of eliminations they secure each round, with the team earning the most points winning the event. The top 10 will also earn a share of the prize pool.

Red Bull Gaming noted that the whole event will have a heavy emphasis on community participation. Fans tuning into the live stream can vote on how each pair will battle, influencing all teams’ gameplay as ALGS players go head-to-head.

Red Bull Legends Inn will be equipped with customised rooms, exclusive merch and gaming setups, including gaming monitors by AGON by AOC gaming monitors, the event’s partner. Fans will be able to watch the games live at the Godfrey Hotel or on Red Bull’s Twitch or YouTube channels.

Red Bull is no stranger to hosting and managing special events in the gaming and esports industry. The energy drink brand previously hosted grassroots VALORANT events Red Bull Campus Clutch, a CS:GO deathmatch tournament called Red Bull Flick, Street Fighter 6 tournament Red Bull Kumite and Red Bull Solo Q, a solo League of Legends tournament.

Recently, the energy drink brand also announced the second edition of the Red Bull League of Its Own in France. The League of Legends LAN event will take place in December, featuring five popular esports teams across the world, including South Korean organisation T1 and Karmine Corp.
