Hardware brand Razer has announced several new products during RazerCon, its product showcase event hosted by CEO Min-Liang Tan.

The new releases include a haptic gaming cushion, the new Kraken V4 Pro headset, a laptop cooling pad and a new version of its Synapse software, as well as the return of the Boomslang mouse.

The RazerCon is Razer’s annual product release and update event, similar to those held by other tech companies such as Google or Apple and hardware brands like Logitech with its Logi Play. Razer announced several new products during the event, ranging from new iterations of existing products to all-new offerings and a return of one of the first-ever gaming mice.

Ahead of Razer’s 20th anniversary, the company teased the re-release of the Boomslang mouse, regarded as one of the first-ever mice designed from the ground up for gaming. The Boomslang will see an ultra-limited run in 2025 featuring updated internals, but keeping the iconic shape.

Razer’s latest foray into gaming haptics is the Freyja, a gaming cushion that features six haptic motors that vibrate to immerse the player in the game. The cushion will fit most gaming and office chairs and offer Bluetooth and wireless connectivity. It will also be controllable through the Synapse software. Razer noted that Freyja is not strictly tied to gaming, and it will also provide immersion in movies and music and can be used on mobile devices and PCs.

Keeping up with the haptic immersion theme, Razer also announced the Kraken V4 Pro headset which also features haptic feedback. The Pro model comes just over a month after the launch of the ‘regular’ Kraken V4, and provides several upgrades that go along with its price increase. The headset features an OLED control panel and detailed customizability, and is the first Razer product that offers the ability to mix audio from 2.4GHz and Bluetooth sources together.

Rounding up the hardware launches is the Razer Laptop Cooling Pad. As the name suggests, the device is to be used with gaming laptops to help cool them down during gaming sessions. It features RGB lights, a 140mm fan and an airtight design that allows for more efficient cooling. Razer says that a reduction of around 18% in CPU and GPU temperatures is possible with the product in use.

Razer’s Blade 18 (2024) models will offer Thunderbolt share, allowing for two laptops to share peripherals and transfer files at extremely fast rates.

Lastly, Razer’s Synapse software will undergo a massive update to support new products and make it faster, more efficient and responsive. The new app will also have a better and simpler user interface, and offer easier access to Razer’s new features, such as SnapTap.
