Rantizo operators fly and apply in 30 states, providing qualified, licensed, and insured precision application services.Job SummaryRantizo is searching for an experienced chief pilot who strikes a balance of respect for and adherence to regulations and an ability to push the envelope on flight innovation. This position is responsible for developing UAS flight standards and maintaining compliance to state and federal regulations pertaining to spray drone operations.ResponsibilitiesEnsure all pilots flying under Rantizo’s Part 137 certificate adhere to FAA regulations, company policies, and procedures.Ensure Rantizo’s compliance with state-level aerial application regulations and advocate for changes and/or exemptions appropriate for UAS operations.Establish policies and procedures for pilots, upholding an appropriate standard for safety and compliance, and enabling pilots to make competent, well-informed decisions.Maintain records and reporting consistent with 14 CFR Part 137 and other supporting regulatory permissions.Provide leadership and guidance to Rantizo pilots to ensure they maintain optimum performance and proficiency.Develop and leverage productive relationships with FAA personnel and other related agencies to enhance Rantizo’s operating capabilities and improve spray efficiency for our pilots.Collaborate with other Rantizo teams to enhance our training and software tools for spray operations.Stay up to date on regulatory changes, work with customer support to make sure our pilots understand changes, and work with marketing so they can generate useful thought leadership content.QualificationsBA/BS from a 4 year university2 years past experience as a chief pilot4 years past experience as a pilot in command of aircraft operated under 14 CFR Part 137, Part 135, or related military pilot experienceCurrent pilot license (Part 61)Third-class medical certificate at minimumRemote pilot (Part 107) certificationIn-depth technical knowledge of aviation, drones, FAA regulatory frameworks required; knowledge of crop protection industry preferred.Demonstrated experience to provide structured frameworks for complianceExcellent written and verbal communication skills; organization and prioritization skills“Our vision is to build a service network that puts autonomy to work in ag, starting with spray drone services.
