PS5 console exclusive Forspoken has been delayed for five months from its original May 24 release date. Developer Luminous Productions and publisher Square Enix have decided to push the game back to October so that they can give it extra polishing.When is the new Forspoken release date?Forspoken will now be released on October 11, 2022. As Luminous Productions is intending to deliver a game and a hero that players will “want to experience for years to come”, they want to make sure they get it right the first time. As such, the extra five months will now be used to polish the game. You can read their full statement below:We have made the decision to move the release date of Forspoken to October 11, 2022. Our vision for this exciting new IP is to deliver a game world and hero that gamers across the globe will want to experience for years to come, so getting it right is extremely important to use. To that end, during the next few months we will focus all of our efforts on polishing the game and can’t wait for you to experience Frey’s journey this fall.Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to sharing more about Forspoken with you soon.The game was also due to get prequel DLC this winter that focused on the game’s villains. The “In Tantas We Trust” DLC will tell the story of several of the Tantas, the former rulers of Athia, and how they fell from grace. It’s unknown whether this DLC will also be delayed thanks to the new release date, but we’ll let you know as soon as we hear more.In other news, the rumored March 2022 PlayStation State of Play show was supposed to be held this week. However, both PlayStation Studios and third-party developers have asked for the show to be postponed so it doesn’t detract from the events in Ukraine. Elsewhere, an Elden Ring modder managed to find unused coliseums in the game and it is believed these may point to either future DLC or cut content.
