Esports tournament organiser BLAST has announced a large-scale partnership with insurance provider Progressive Insurance for the upcoming Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) World Championship.

Progressive Insurance will act as the presenting sponsor for the event and will host activations with BLAST on digital platforms and at the event venue.

ESI Lisbon 2024

Progressive Insurance is one of the largest automotive insurance companies in the United States. The company previously partnered with esports brand Immortals in 2021 and expanded the partnership in 2022 to include naming rights for the Immortals League of Legends roster.

The RLCS World Championship, the largest event in the RLCS calendar, is set to take place in Fort Worth, Texas, later this September. The event, produced by BLAST, will have a $1.165m (~£927,607) prize pool and will bring 16 of the world’s best Rocket League teams to the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth. The deal between BLAST and publisher Epic Games was announced earlier this year.

During the event, Progressive branding will be featured on the RLCS World Championship ball and the end-of-season awards for players. In addition, Progressive will host activations in the venue itself to further engage visitors. The company will also be featured during the official broadcast of the event itself.

Alexander Lewin, SVP of Commercial Revenues for BLAST, commented: “We are thrilled to welcome Progressive as the Presenting Sponsor of the RLCS World Championship 2024.

“This highly-anticipated event will see the world’s best Rocket League talent gather in Fort Worth to decide the world champions and we are excited to have Progressive at the heart of this activity. We can’t wait to see how they enhance this championship event for fans both in the arena and online.”
