Pokey Ball is all about flicking a ball up a wall. There are obstacles to avoid, coins to collect and a few other tricks here and there as well. It might seem simple, but there are some things you’re going to have to understand if you want to make sure you’re always nabbing the best scores.
What sort of things? Well, the sort of things that we’ve included in our strategy guide. After playing a good chunk of Pokey Ball, we’ve come up with the finest hints, tips and tricks for the game, to ensure you’re playing to the utmost of your abilities.
So, if you want to get better at Pokey Ball, you’ve definitely come to the right place. Here are the best hints, tips and cheats for the game, presented in an easy to read and always popular list format.
Don’t cross the finish line straight away
If you see the finish line coming up, tap to stick yourself to the wall. The more power you throw yourself over the line with, the better chance you’ve got of getting the best bonus. If you can, always use an extra jump to finish the level – you’ll get loads more gold that way.
Hit the targets
Hitting any part of the targets gets you extra points, but if you hit them in the center your next jump will get a super boost. This can smash you through obstacles and get you farther than a regular jump. If you see a target, try and stop in the middle of it.
Fall back down
Sometimes it’s a good idea to let your ball fall back down to find a better place to stop. You can use this trick to collect coins you might have missed, or to hit targets you might have flown past. Since there’s no time limit or move count, you can take a relaxed approach that will get you the best score in the long run.
Don’t poke red things
There are objects on levels that you can’t poke, but the red ones are the worst of the lot. Stick your pin in these and you’ll get an instant fail. Basically, you should avoid hitting red objects at all costs. Fall down instead, and try and find a place to land that isn’t going to end your run.
What are the coins for?
You can spend them on new balls. You’ll find these in a menu in the top right of the screen before you start your run. They don’t change anything mechanically about the game, but they’re a nice aesthetic twist, so if you want to spend then go for it.
