Sony has confirmed they are holding a PlayStation State of Play show this week despite initial fears it had been delayed. However, it seems like the Russian invasion of Ukraine has affected what will be shown with sources stating many western developers have asked to pull out of the show. With no mention of input from PlayStation Studios, it is believed we won’t see anything from God of War Ragnarok, or the rumored Infamous and Sly Cooper games. What’s in PlayStation State of Play on March 9?The PlayStation State of Play show on March 9 will be around 20 minutes long and will focus on “great games coming from some of our beloved Japanese publishers”. Sony has confirmed the show won’t focus exclusively on Japan, though, as there will be a few “updates from other developers located around the world”. There will not be any updates on PSVR 2 titles, nor will there be any hardware announcements. We’re unsure whether the much-rumored Project Spartacus announcement will make an appearance. While the State of Play show has not been delayed, inside sources suggest its contents have been altered due to the Russia / Ukraine conflict. Originally due to be announced yesterday, Sony announced the show today instead. Renowned insider AccountNGT, who most recently correctly predicted the delay of Forspoken, claims this is likely to be because the western developers that asked for the show to be delayed have instead had their games removed from the show. Hogwarts Legacy could still be one of the games from the “other developers”, but we’ll have to wait and see.AccountNGT also claimed that there won’t be anything from PlayStation Studios. This means no update on God of War Ragnarok, nor an announcement for the new titles in the Infamous or Sly Cooper franchises. The latter is now expected to be revealed during the second half of 2022 to coincide with the 20th anniversary of Sly Cooper. Regardless of what we can expect to see, the show will be broadcast at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 11pm CET on March 9 on Twitch and Youtube, so be sure to tune in.In other news, Dolmen will be released for PS5 and PS4 in May. Those who pre-order the sci-fi horror RPG will get the Rebel set, which includes armor, an axe, and a sword. Elsewhere, today’s Battlefield 2042 update has finally added the overhauled scoreboard amongst other fixes.
