Despite Final Fantasy having a reputation as a PlayStation franchise over the years, none of the games are yet available to play via PlayStation Now. However, this is set to change soon. Sony will be adding five Final Fantasy games to the subscription service over the coming months. Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, and Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age will all be added by January 4, 2022, with the first of the games being released as soon as next week. One Final Fantasy game will be added every month until January. Final Fantasy VII (the original 1997 title, not the remake) will be the first to hit the service on September 7. October 5 is the day Final Fantasy VIII Remastered comes to Now, while Final Fantasy IX joins the service on November 2. Technically two games in a single bundle, Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remastered will be added on December 7. Finally, Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age will be one of the first new PlayStation Now games released in 2022, landing on the service on January 4.Unfortunately while more games are added every month, some games do end up leaving the service too. Both World War Z and The Witcher 3 are due to be removed from PlayStation Now on September 7. Borderlands 3 will be removed at the end of the month on September 30. Whether the Final Fantasy games stay on the service with ongoing access or whether they will have a finite amount of time before being removed will become clearer when they’re added to PS Now.All of these titles are likely to be joined by others when they’re released onto PlayStation Now. Sony will reveal the lineup of this month’s games on the same day they are added to the service on September 7. The latest games to be added were NieR: Automata, Ghostrunner and Undertale on August 2.[Source: PlayStation Blog]
