We’ve combed through the demos available with Steam Next Fest for you to find a selection of games that are also coming to Xbox — check out what we’ve come up with!Steam Next is back! While not as many as last year, there are still hundreds of demos to try. We dived into the madness, got lost a few times, but managed to find a selection of games that are also coming to Xbox, so that you can try these upcoming Xbox games out straight away!Forever SkiesForever Skies is an action survival game which sees you returning to a ruined Earth in an airship which will function as your base of operations as you explore, gather resources, and conduct research. It sounds as though the pressure never really lets up in Forever Skies — Earth, which underwent an “ecological” disaster hundreds of years ago, is now full of harmful dust and home to strangely-evolved creatures. While trying to figure out how Earth ended up this way, we’ll also need to look for a cure for the illness in our family, all while trying to survive. Asterigos: Curse of the Stars Asterigos: Curse of the Stars is an action RPG in which warrior Hilda travels to the cursed city of Aphes to find her father. She is soon caught up in investigating the cause of the city’s curse, with her decisions affecting its fate. Inspired by Greek and Roman myths, Asterigos: Curse of the Stars has Hilda fighting a variety of monsters and bosses as she explores deeper into the city.DredgeDredge describes itself as a “sinister fishing adventure” where you explore the archipelago known as The Marrows, selling the things you catch to its inhabitants, completing quests, upgrading your boat, and seeking ever further beneath the waves, encountering all sorts of creatures as you do. Heading out to sea at night and in the fog sees you going up against some terrifying behemoths as you work to control your new abilities and learn more about the archipelago. The Entropy CentreThe Entropy Centre is an adventure and puzzle game set aboard a space station in Earth’s orbit, where we are apparently the last human alive after a catastrophic event took place on Earth. Using ASTRA, the space station’s AI machine, we can move objects through the past to solve the station’s puzzles as we work our way to the heart of the Entropy Centre.Ship of FoolsShip of Fools is a co-op roguelite game which takes us through the Archipelago on a quest to stop the Aquapolypse. We’ll use cannons to fight our foes and the creatures beneath the waves, making sure to repair the ship and working our way around the Everlasting Storm as we plot our course through the waves.Lego: Bricktales Taking a brief break from the world-ending chaos of the games above, we can take a look at puzzle and adventure game Lego: Bricktales, which lowers the stakes a little — instead of the world and the future of humanity, we’ll be working to save our grandpa’s amusement park. An alien device will help us rebuild the park, but it’s powered by happiness crystals (the device, not the park) which we need to earn by travelling the world and solving people’s problems. Bravery and GreedBravery and Greed mashes together beat ‘em up, roguelite, and dungeon brawler elements and can be played by up to four players. You can play as the Warrior, Rogue, Amazon, or Wizard, each with different moves and skills, across a number of modes including Adventure Mode and Survival Mode. The Knight WitchThe Knight Witch is a metroidvania adventure game set in Dungeonidas in the midst of the War Golem invasion, where we’ll combine magical abilities with knight skills and deckbuilding strategy to face our foes. It seems the Knight Witches grow more powerful through gaining gratitude and trust — things which we can earn honestly, or otherwise.Hello Neighbour 2Then we come to creepy stealth game Hello Neighbour 2, where we play as an investigative journalist uncovering the secrets of Raven Brooks. The AI-controlled residents of the town will all adapt to us as we try to sneak by them and will do their best to outsmart us before we can find out what they’re up to.InkulinatiInkulinati is a strategy game where we wage war across medieval manuscripts. Using the Living Ink, we can send the bizarre creatures found in medieval marginalia against our foes — we can also crush other units with our fists or else create barriers to block them. We can even, if the mood strikes us, explode our own troops. Why would we do that? Who can say. Cassette BeastsIn Cassette Beasts, an open-world RPG, we send out monsters to face each other in turn-based battles in the land of New Wirral. We record these monsters using cassette tapes, and, with the game’s fusion system, we can combine different monsters to make new ones. Monsters will use their abilities to help us solve puzzles, explore the land, and more. Thirsty SuitorsThirsty Suitors covers a lot — we’ll be fighting our exes in turn-based battles, skateboarding, and cooking, while exploring ideas of self expression, relationships, and more. We (Jala) need to find closure with our exes and other relationships while also dealing with pressure from Jala’s parents before her sister’s wedding. It sounds chaotic and all kinds of awesome.Lonesome VillageLonesome Village combines puzzle-solving with adventure and social simulation elements. We play as Wes the coyote, and work to rebuild a town which had mysteriously been obliterated. We’ll solve puzzles inside a strange tower to free the villagers before befriending them, and will also decorate our home, craft items, do some gardening, fish, mine, and more.Scars AboveOn a less cosy note, we have Scars Above, a sci-fi third-person action-adventure shooter. Earth is again not having a great time; something called the Metahedron has appeared in Earth’s orbit, and when the Sentient Contact Assessment and Response (SCAR) team is sent to find out what’s going on, the team is taken to a strange new planet. We play as Dr Kate Ward, a scientist and astronaut, who has to explore, survive, and fight her way across the planet to find the rest of the crew.Soccer StoryIn Soccer Story, Soccer Inc. has closed all the stadiums and teams down and banned the game, but according to a magical soccer ball, we are the Savior of Soccer. One more time: soccer. It’s an adventure RPG in which we try to solve puzzles, win games, and ultimately save soccer.A number of these titles — including Cassette Beasts, Inkulinati, Thirsty Suitors, Soccer Story, and Hello Neighbour 2 — are coming to Xbox Game Pass too. For more info, check out our big round-up of everything coming to Game Pass in 2022 and beyond! So, what do you think?
