Bellator 266 went down on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, starting at 7 p.m. ET. The preliminary card was on YouTube and the main card on Showtime. Bellator took off one month and returned with thirteen bouts on Saturday night. The fight card varied from title contenders to fighters making their pro debut.
In the headliner, promotional newcomer Yoel Romero looked to send a message to the light heavyweight division. Meanwhile, Phil Davis stood in his way with the hopes of bouncing back from his championship fight loss last time out. Expectations varied due to the uncertainty of Romero’s health, but the matchup was intriguing nonetheless.
The co-main event featured Neiman Gracie trying to represent the legendary family name against Mark Lemminger. Gracie lost his last bout to Jason Jackson and found himself returning to action quickly with the hopes of getting back to a title fight. On the contrary, Lemminger had the opportunity to prove his worth and find a way into the Bellator rankings. Stylistically this fight was interesting due to their different grappling abilities.
