If you’ve been patiently waiting for the right opportunity to grab Persona 5 Tactica, now’s the time. The turn-based strategy spin-off is on sale for just $30 (was $60) at Amazon. This 50% discount applies to the Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, and Xbox Series X versions. While Persona 5 Tactica is approachable to newcomers, those who want to experience the full Persona 5 story can pick up Persona 5 Royal for Nintendo Switch at Amazon for just $41.50 (was $60). The Persona 5 Royal: 1 More Edition for PS5 is also discounted to $80 (was $120) at Amazon-owned retailer Woot. This collector’s edition sold out when it first launched on the Atlus store, but a fresh reprint was released at Amazon last year.
Persona 5 Tactica continues the story of the Persona 5’s protagonist Joker and his squad of inter-deimensional heroes, the Phantom Thieves. This time around, the team finds themselves in an alternate world where they join a group of resistance fighters battling against the realm’s oppressive rulers. Tactica trades in the dungeon crawling of the original Persona 5 for strategic turn-based missions where players control a squad of new and returning characters on grid-based battlefields. The game also adapts Persona gameplay staples–like the “1 More Turn” combat system and recruiting and fusing the titular Personas–to Tactica’s new tactical RPG structure. As for Persona 5 Royal’s: 1 More Edition, it includes the game and a bunch of extra DLC, plus physical collectibles like art prints, a special edition steelbook case, messenger bag, tarot deck, and a giant treasure chest-shaped box to store it all in. And don’t forget Persona 5 Strikers, which like Tactica is another spinoff set after the events of Persona 5, which is available for only $20 on PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
These Persona sales are all in anticipation of the upcoming Persona 3 Remake launching February 2 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game is a ground-up remake of the original Persona 3 on PS2, featuring new gameplay systems and a refreshed art style closer to Persona 5’s.
