Players unlocking the Pentiment achievements on Xbox Series X|S can currently only play the game at 60fps, while players on PS5 are enjoying it at 120fps. Although Pentiment won’t find a place on our list of the best Xbox exclusives anymore, the game’s director has said Pentiment performs better on PS5 due to a “bug” on Xbox Series X|S, and it’ll be patched soon.In case you missed it, Microsoft has confirmed the four Xbox exclusives heading to PlayStation and Nintendo, which include Pentiment and Grounded. Pentiment arrived on PS5, PS4, and Switch on February 22, while Grounded will be launching on Switch in April — it’s been announced for PlayStation without a release date so far. Pentiment doesn’t hit 120fps on Xbox Series X|S due to a “bug”A recent comparison video from AlkaJugger on YouTube drew some attention to the performance discrepancies between Pentiment’s 60fps framerate on Xbox Series X|S and PS5’s 120fps. The video was subsequently shared by X user PeterOvo with a screenshot of both games running side-by-side, which gained the attention of Pentiment game director Josh Sawyer. “120fps will be enabled for Xbox in the next patch,” Sawyer replied. “It being disabled is just a bug.”Of course, Pentiment is a graphic novel side-scroller, and whether performing at 120fps is really necessary is certainly up for debate, but players on both systems deserve to have the game run the best it can. We don’t have an arrival date for the Xbox Series X|S patch yet, but we’ll let you know once Obsidian Entertainment rolls it out.In other Pentiment news, the game is finally getting a physical release via Limited Run Games.
