Path Of Exile 2 Confirmed For PS5 With Couch Co-Op & Cross-Play, Early Access Due Later This Year

Grinding Gear Games has confirmed on the PlayStation Blog that Path of Exile 2 will be winging its way to the PS5, and what’s more, will be fully equipped with not only couch co-op, but also Cross-Play support.Path of Exile 2 will allow players to team up on a single account or log in with two separate Path of Exile accounts on the same platform. With Cross-Play and Cross-Progression, you can tame up with your mates without fear of losing any of your progress.The free-to-play sequel will include 12 character classes, with two for every combination of Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence. Each one features a different play style, but you can combine skills from many classes to create your own custom character. Beyond that, Path of Exile 2 also features a new Skill Gem system, which includes 240 Skill Gems that affords ‘devastating skills’ and 200 Support Gems to modify their behaviour.Related Content — Upcoming PS5 Games 2024: The Best PS5 Games Coming SoonPath of Exile’s iconic Passive Skill Tree has made a return, with 1,500 skills that allow you to completely customise your gameplay experience. It now features Dual Specialisation, the ability to allocate some passive skill points to two different sets of skills. They engage whenever the appropriate weapon or skill type is used. For example, you can have some points allocated to both daggers and traps, or ice and lightning, and as you swap between attacks, the appropriate skill points will apply. This lets you specialise in multiple areas without opportunity cost.Beyond that, Path of Exile to boss 700 equipment base types, with each one packing its own unique item for players to obtain. As such, you can complement your arsenal with Spears, Crossbows, and Flails, plus supplementary items including Focuses, Traps, and redesigned Sceptres.Path of Exile 2 is coming to the PS5 via Early Access later this year, with an exact release date yet to be determined.[Source – PlayStation Blog]
