At 16th place in our Overwatch League 2022 Power Rankings is Paris Eternal. Last year, the team underwent major changes.
They mainly signed rookies, and Paris Eternal ended up in the middle of the rankings. The team is now heading into the Overwatch League 2022 Season with more experienced players. Paris Eternal kept half of its roster, resigned players who left the team and welcomed a former San Francisco Shock player.
Paris Eternal 2022 Roster
Tank:
- Daniël “Daan” Scheltema
- Ilari “Vestola” Vestola
Daniël “Daan” Scheltema is a main tank player. It is his second year playing with Paris Eternal, after a long run playing in Overwatch Contenders. He is able to play both shield and dive heroes, making him a strong asset in a one-tank meta.
Ilari “Vestola” Vestola mainly plays off-tank heroes. He joined Paris Eternal last Summer but didn’t get much playtime. Prior to joining the Overwatch League team, he played with British Hurricane, Ex Oblivione, and Young and Beautiful in Contenders.
Support:
- Emir “Kaan” Okumus
- Arthur “dridro” Szanto
Emir “Kaan” Okumus is now a seasoned Paris Eternal player. The flex support joined the team in late 2020 and showed his ability to adapt to most situations. Despite being a rookie last season, Kaan managed to compete with some of the best players in the League.
Arthur “dridro” Szanto is a main support player who joined Paris Eternal last May. Before joining the team, he played with Uprising Academy, the academy team of Boston Uprising in Contenders. He also won the Contenders 2021 Europe Season 1 of April with New Kings.
DPS:
- Nikolai “Naga” Dereli
- Gil-seong “Glister” Lim
The biggest change for Paris Eternal this season is on the DPS line. The team kept only one player from their original DPS roster, Nikolai “Naga” Dereli. Last season was his first in the Overwatch League, so now he has more experience to unleash his full potential.
Gil-seong “Glister” Lim is a hitscan specialist who played with London Spitfire and San Francisco Shock before joining Paris Eternal this season. Besides hitscan heroes, Glister can also play flankers like Tracer and Sombra, making him versatile enough to help his team in most situations.
Paris Eternal 2022 Power Rankings
The Paris Eternal 2022 roster is not bad – the team managed to keep its core players and signed new additions to strengthen its composition. But this lack of change could be the biggest default of Paris Eternal heading into the 2022 Season. From what we saw last year, the team is not awful, but it is far from being as good as other teams in the Overwatch League. And while most teams improved their roster mid-season, Paris Eternal is trying to give some more experience to their players. It may pay off in the long run, but it will be complicated to reach the Playoffs for Paris Eternal this season.
