OWL 2022 Power Rankings – #15 Philadelphia Fusion

Apr 9, 2022

At 15th place in our Overwatch League 2022 Power Rankings is Philadelphia Fusion. The team can count on the experience of some of its players, but the overall roster lacks the flexibility to reach higher rankings this year.

Philadelphia Fusion 2022 Roster

Tank:

Philadelphia Fusion only has one tank player: Jun-ho “Fury” Kim. Fury is one of the most experienced tanks still playing in the Overwatch League. He was part of the London Spitfire roster that won the Inaugural Season and also won the Overwatch World Cup the same year. He then joined Philadelphia Fusion in 2019 and placed 4th in the 2020 Grand Finals. Fury played with Washington Justice last year and is now back with Philly for a new season. Fury has a large hero pool and should be able to adapt to any situation. However, as the sole tank of the team, he cannot rely on a partner to replace him in some games.

Support:

  • Min-seok “AimGod” Kwon
  • Yeong-hun “FiXa” Kwon

Min-seok “AimGod” Kwon is making his return to the Overwatch League. The flex support player spent last season in Contenders with Team CC, the academy team of Shanghai Dragons. But before that, AimGod played two seasons in the Overwatch League. He competed in the Inaugural Season and in the Overwatch League 2019 Season with Boston Uprising. In 2020, he played with Washington Justice. He is now making his comeback to the League with Philadelphia Fusion.

Yeong-hun “FiXa” Kwon comes directly from the Contenders. The main support player competed with Uprising Academy last year, placing 2nd in both the September and October monthly tournaments of the NA Contenders. As of today, FiXa is still underaged. But he will turn 18 on May 2nd, three days before the start of the Overwatch League 2022 Season.

DPS:

  • Jae-hyeok “Carpe” Lee
  • Jae-hee “MN3” Yoon
  • Hyun-woo “ZEST” Kim

Jae-hyeok “Carpe” Lee is the most iconic player of Philadelphia Fusion. He has been with the team ever since the Inaugural Season and is the team’s captain. Carpe mainly plays hitscan DPS heroes and was the first Overwatch League player to reach 4,000 final blows. As he played in a total of 4 Overwatch League Seasons and 2 World Cups, Carpe has the experience to lead the rookies in his team this Season.

To play with Carpe on the DPS line, Philadelphia Fusion signed two rookies from T1: Jae-hee “MN3” Yoon and Hyun-woo “ZEST” Kim. MN3 is a hitscan specialist, while ZEST mainly plays projectile heroes. With T1, this DPS duo placed 3rd in the Overwatch Contenders 2021 Season 2: Korea.

Philadelphia Fusion 2022 Power Rankings

The Philadelphia Fusion 2022 roster includes some players with a large experience in the Overwatch League. But if Carpe and Fury are staples in the League, they might also not be as good as they once were. The team has no backup on the tank and support lines, meaning the players will compete in each and every Overwatch League game this year. This lack of flexibility could fatigue some players and decrease their efficiency as the season goes by.
