The vivo X200 Pro unveiled last week has arrived at our office for review. It’s still a work in progress, but we already tested its battery endurance and thought of sharing the results with you while you wait for the full review.

Note that we are talking about the Chinese model, running Android 15-based OriginOS 5. The international version, which should debut in India and other countries by early December, will boot Funtouch OS 15.

The Chinese vivo X200 Pro is powered by the Dimensity 9400 SoC (3nm) and packs a 6,000 mAh battery. Its predecessor, the X100 Pro, came with the Dimensity 9300 chip (4nm) and a 5,400 mAh battery.

Despite packing a bigger battery, the vivo X200 Pro is thinner than the X100 Pro. This can be attributed to vivo’s use of a Silicon Carbon battery on the X200 Pro instead of a Lithium Ion battery used for the X100 Pro.

Silicon Carbon batteries have a higher energy density than Lithium Ion batteries, which allows manufacturers to fit a higher-capacity battery of the same size or trim down the phone’s thickness without reducing the battery capacity.

Talking about battery tests, the vivo X200 Pro achieved an Active Use Score of 14:56h – about an hour more than the X100 Pro (13:53h). That’s a result of a bigger battery and a more power-efficient chip.

We don’t have any other Dimensity 9400-powered devices with us for comparison, and the Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered devices are yet to hit the market. Hence, we compared the vivo X200 Pro’s battery test results with phones falling in the X200 Pro’s price range along with some flagships that cost more. You can check the comparison below.

While you get a higher capacity battery with the vivo X200 Pro, the wired charging speed has dropped from 100W on the X100 Pro to 90W on the X200 Pro. The same goes for wireless charging – down to 30W from 50W. We’ll share our vivo X200 Pro’s battery charging test results and other findings in our full review. Stay tuned!
