Croatian creative agency Studio 33 creates packaging for Orqa.

Orqa aims to be the leading global provider of technology for First Person View (FPV) and Remote Reality (RR) applications. Their mission is to develop next-generation vision systems, advancing the technology that powers FPV experiences. Orqa specializes in creating innovative solutions across the entire FPV technology stack, including antennas, radio controllers, headsets, and, most critically, low latency video signal transport systems. What sets Orqa apart is its commitment to in-house engineering excellence. The team handles everything from mechanical and electronics design to RF and firmware development, optics design, and prototyping. Proudly labeled as “Made in Europe,” Orqa’s products embody the highest standards of quality and innovation.

THE OBJECTIVE

The goal of the Orqa FPV.Ace educational kit project is to create innovative and functional packaging for a product that consists of three segments or “chapters” (controller-drone-goggles). Each chapter includes equipment that allows elementary school students to gradually acquire drone piloting skills. This project facilitates the introduction of new technologies into the education system and addresses the challenges associated with such an endeavor. The key challenge is to design packaging that is clearly understandable, interactive, and appealing not only to students but also to their teachers and professors, as well as to all enthusiasts of this technology and form of entertainment.

THE SOLUTION

We began the design process by focusing on the outer appearance of the boxes, with an emphasis on clear product presentation for easy recognition and communication with users. The design needs to work both for individual boxes and as a set of three. We minimized other information and the product name to maintain a clean and simple packaging appearance. After finalizing the outer box design, the next step was developing the structural elements inside the box. Our goal was to maximize space usage and provide a positive and functional unboxing experience by smartly arranging the individual components. Each tool component is placed in its own compartment for easy access and visibility during the initial assembly. The box structure is designed to function both as a secure transport container and a display box for storing and protecting the product when not in use. The sets are designed to be durable and easy to handle, accommodating frequent use by students and teachers while ensuring the kit’s longevity and functionality in a dynamic classroom environment. The FPV.Ace kits offer a unique opportunity to fill the market with high-quality educational drone kits. Designed for school children, the kit is user-friendly, well-organized, and durable, making it ideal for educational programs. It enhances the learning experience by providing all necessary tools in one comprehensive, reusable package.
