The Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition achievements and the Ori and the Will of the Wisps achievements proved that these games are both incredibly beautiful and a genuine teeth-gnashing challenge. Both games were spectacular and have more than earned a place on the list of the best Xbox platformers, and while Moon Studios is entirely focused on the separate project of its upcoming new game No Rest for the Wicked, the devs do apparently have an inkling of what a third Ori game could look like.Moon Studios’ upcoming new game is No Rest for the WickedMoon Studios is clear that it’s content with how Ori’s story wrapped up after Ori and the Will of the Wisps.“I think we were pretty happy with where it left off. I think we were able to complete the story of Ori. It’s a complete arc now; if you play both games, it’s a complete story,” Moon Studios co-founder Gennadiy Korol said to Game Informer. “So it felt like the only way we would come back to Ori 3 is if we have more to say, more story to tell.”The devs emphasize that their entire focus is their upcoming action-RPG No Rest for the Wicked, which is set to launch in Early Access for PC later this month before coming to consoles at a later date, making it clear that a third Ori game isn’t in active discussion. The most interesting bit, however, is when Moon Studios CEO and creative director Thomas Mahler steps in to say he has a title for this hypothetical third Ori game already, adding, “I have some ideas, but so far, right now, we are completely focused on No Rest for the Wicked for the time being.” It’s clear any ideas for a potential continuation of Ori’s story are still very much in the hypothetical stage, as Korol adds in Game Informer’s interview that he “didn’t know that it was on the table.”So, if there is ever any continuation of Ori’s story, it’d likely be a long time off. In the meantime, however, we do have a list of some of the other best Metroidvania games on Xbox as well as those best Xbox platformers.
