February 2025 is filled with some big game releases, including a new Monster Hunter and Assassin’s Creed. In fact, so many large games are coming out that month that one of them has decided to change its release date to avoid the pile-up of video games.

There’s no doubt that 2024 has been a busy year for video games, with epic, big-budget hits like Dragon Age: The Veilguard, smaller but amazing games like Astro Bot, and a massive list of creative and surprising indie games, like Balatro and UFO 50. And if you were planning to use early 2025 to catch up on stuff you missed this year, that’s going to be tricky as the early months of next year look to drop an avalanche of big games on us all.

Here’s what’s launching in February 2025 across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation:

  • Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – February 4
  • Sid Meier’s Civilization VII – February 11
  • Assassin’s Creed Shadows – February 14
  • Avowed – February 18
  • Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 1 – February 18
  • Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii – February 21
  • Monster Hunter Wilds – February 28

I’m very excited to get my hands on Avowed and Assassin’s Creed Shadows, but I’m not sure how I’m going to manage playing both of them at the same time. Meanwhile, I’ll have to avoid Civilization VII because if I touch that game for a moment I’ll get sucked into it and play 200 hours.

There are so many big games coming out in the second half of February that one of them, the open-world medieval simulator Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, is actually ditching its original February 11 launch date. On Wednesday, the studio behind the game announced it was pushing up Deliverance II’s release date by a week to February 4.

Meanwhile, the day before February starts, the latest Sniper Elite game is launching alongside Spider-Man 2‘s official PC port. And then a few days after February ends, Two Point Museum arrives on PC and consoles on March 4. So yeah, if you want to chew through your backlog, you’d better take advantage of your free time over Christmas and the holidays. Good luck!
