We might soon be able to collect the Octopath Traveler 2 achievements, as the RPG is rumored to be launching on Xbox and PC sometime this month. Additionally, the leak suggests that Octopath Traveler 2 will join Game Pass along with the first game on day one, despite Xbox saying that it won’t join the service.Octopath Traveler 2 rumored for Xbox Game PassThis is a tough one, as when Octopath Traveler 2 was first announced for Xbox during the Tokyo Game Show last year, Xbox president Sarah Bond said the fantastic RPG would launch straight into Game Pass. However, when Bond’s interview was published on Xbox Wire, Microsoft “removed the mention of Octopath Traveler II coming to Xbox Game Pass” as it was “included in error.”Since then, we’ve assumed that Octopath Traveler 2 will launch on Xbox consoles and PC sometime this year without arriving in the service, but now it appears that the RPG could be joining Game Pass after all. As reported by Exputer’s eXtas1s, Square Enix plans to launch Octopath Traveler 2 on Xbox Series X|S and PC sometime this month. Additionally, it’s reported that the sequel will join Xbox Game Pass on day one, as previously suggested. We might even see the first Octopath Traveler return to the service too.As with any leak, we suggest you take this with a pinch of salt until it’s announced officially, but with the Xbox Games Showcase set for Sunday, we might not need to wait much longer.
