Unfortunately, we’ve been unable to locate the website in question, but MP1st — which has been a reliable source in the past — reports that the former employee worked on the Oblivion remake between 2023 and 2024, and also has credits on Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, Call of Duty: Warzone, and more. A description of the game on the site reportedly suggests Virtuos is using Unreal Engine 5 for the upcoming game and that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake will be “fully remade” using the engine, improving many gameplay aspects from the original. Apparently, archery will feel more modern thanks to improvements to the first and third-person views, and Virtuos has used Souls-like games as inspiration for the reworked blocking system. Both the player and NPCs will have better hit reactions when damaged, and a reworked HUD will reportedly be more visually appealing for new players while also making it easier to understand. As for sneaking, icons have apparently been reworked and the damage calculations have been improved. Virtuos has also made it harder to be knocked down when you’re out of stamina. This remake is reportedly in development for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC and uses a “pairing system” to render the new graphics in Unreal Engine 5 while the original Oblivion engine handles gameplay, physics, and the like. The Oblivion remake was rumored to be revealed during the next Xbox Developer Direct, which kicks off next week on January 23, 2025. However, it appears that the mystery game set to be revealed is actually a new title from a big Japanese IP.Would you be interested in playing an Oblivion remake?
