UK university esports body National Student Esports (NSE) has signed a partnership with peripherals brand SteelSeries.
As the official peripherals brand of the British University Esports Championship, Steelseries will provide its Arctis Nova Series headset at its 2025 finals.
According to a release, Steelseries will also be ‘present’ throughout NSE’s main competitive tournaments. Moreover, the brand will be providing merch to over 100 gaming and esports societies for their freshers’ fairs.
Launched in 2018, the British University Esports Championship is a prominent university-focused esports tournament that takes place throughout academic years. Last semester, NSE noted that the event hosted over 15,000 matches across VALORANT, Teamfight Tactics, Splatoon 3, Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege, Overwatch 2, Dota 2, Apex Legends, CS2 and League of Legends.
The 2023/24 season saw Warwick University walk out victorious for the sixth year in a row. In total 113 universities took part with Swansea University and the University of Portsmouth placing second and third, respectively.
Steelseries joins a growing commercial portfolio which includes the likes of Scan Computers, Monster Energy, UNiDAYS, Pringles, Intel and iiyama. Exact details regarding the length of the partnership have not been disclosed.
