Nintendo has added five classic Game Boy games to its core Nintendo Switch Online membership, all featuring Mega Man. The games include Mega Man: Dr. Wily’s Revenge, Mega Man II, Mega Man III, Mega Man IV, and Mega Man V.
The five Game Boy Mega Man titles are a curious mix of remake and new content, with each game featuring its own original storyline, but reusing bosses, enemies, and stage components from the original NES titles. Each of the Game Boy games mixes up content from two of the NES titles, except for Mega Man V, which has all-original content.
This is Mega Man’s first appearance in the core Nintendo Switch Online library, and being original Game Boy games, the titles will be playable in the handheld’s monochromatic green color scheme.
The only other Mega Man title previously made available on Nintendo Switch Online is Mega Man: The Wily Wars, a compilation that contained remakes of the first three Mega Man games. As a Sega Genesis title, The Wily Wars is only available to Expansion Pack subscribers.
Nintendo first added Game Boy and Game Boy Color titles to Nintendo Switch Online last February, starting off with nine titles. There are now 29 Game Boy and Game Boy Color games included on the subscription service.
