New Total War Warhammer 3 patch notes have just rolled out, as Creative Assembly follows up on its recent 6.1 reworks with hotfix 6.1.2. The strategy game developer has taken community feedback on board and made additional adjustments to both of its current focus factions. Kislev gets changes to building, tiering, and tech, while Tzeentch’s Kairos Fateweaver is handed a few more improvements to his kit. CA also addresses a few other issues that it’s currently working on as it looks towards Total War Warhammer 3’s next DLC.
Total War Warhammer 3 hotfix 6.1.2 continues to hone the two factions that CA overhauled in its most recent major update. While the studio has already teased what’s coming next – yes, we’re finally getting some long-awaited love for Slaanesh – that doesn’t mean it’s done tweaking the current game. The majority of the changes here are for Kislev, which has been bolstered by a dramatic rework that brought one of the most underloved factions in the Warhammer game up to speed with its peers.
Kislev’s pair of buildings for recruiting Ice Guards have been combined into a single tier-four structure, meaning you’ll get access to both the sword and glaive variants immediately along with the increased capacity for Frost Maidens. If you have either building constructed in an existing save, they’ll be converted to the new one. Likewise, Kislevite Cultural Capital defense buildings have been merged, with the Watch patrol building chain removed and its benefits placed into the City Defenses chain.
Defense and resource buildings will now both provide significantly more experience to your Atamans. The Ataman’s Estate generates more XP per turn, offers vastly more starting supplies during sieges, and applies just a -50% income modifier rather than completely disabling it. Wall buildings now also generate a small amount of Devotion, and the Devotion requirement to use Invocations has been lowered.
On the unit side, Akshina Ambushers now benefit from Troll County Pathfinders’ +10% range and Praag Veterans’ +2 base missile damage. Gryphon Legion units gain the +15% missile resistance from the Leather Treatment tech, while Horse Archers get the +10 armor from Dwarfen Anvil. Unlocking Breechloaders now also applies +10% range to Kislev gunpowder units in addition to its previous armor-piercing and reload speed benefits. The Common Steel Orthodoxy boon has been slightly downgraded to grant a +3 recruit rank bonus rather than +5, but it now also affects Kislevite Warriors.
For Kairos, his ‘Gaze to the Past’ skill now correctly applies to the four lores aligned with his past head. A -25% cooldown reduction for all spells has been added to his ‘Prescient Cant,’ and ‘Dwell in the Present’ gains the lore passive of ‘Fires of Change.’ Elsewhere, the Ogre Kingdoms’ new Gnoblar Flingers have been moved from Barracks tier two down to tier one, swapping places with the Gnoblar Pigback Riders. Flingers will also no longer incorrectly appear at 10% health in garrisons.
