A new South Park game is in development, seemingly for consoles and PC. As spotted by Eurogamer, the game’s existence was revealed through a job advert for a Lead Level Designer at Question, the developer behind puzzle title The Magic Circle and co-op survival horror The Blackout Club, and it will be their biggest title yet. What Consoles Will the South Park Game Be On?The job listing asks for the candidate to ideally have experience with “console development on any modern system”, such as PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, or PC. It sounds like the game will be targeting those platforms although nothing has been confirmed. The “new video game set in the world of South Park” will be built on Unreal Engine 4 and will seemingly feature some form of multiplayer, seeing as the candidate must have either shipped a multiplayer game as a senior level designer or have similar experience.Little else is known about the game right now, although South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone had already revealed they were creating “a 3D video game that is set in the world of South Park” at an unknown developer. We’re assuming these are the same game.If Question seems like an odd choice of studio on the surface, their team is made up of ex-AAA developers who have worked on projects like South Park: The Stick of Truth, and South Park: Fractured But Whole previously, so the team has the pedigree to do justice to the project. Other titles the team has worked on include Thief: Deadly Shadows, BioShock, BioShock 2, BioShock Infinite, and Dishonored. In other news, Horizon Forbidden West will have improved side quests and a minimalist HUD when compared to Horizon Zero Dawn. Elsewhere, the future of E3 is in doubt as the 2022 in-person event has been canceled. The official line is the new Omicron variant of Covid makes the in-person event too difficult to hold, but insider sources claim the event was canceled months before this became an issue.[Source: Question Games via Eurogamer]
