Ryu Ga Gotoku’s latest Like a Dragon Direct gave us a new look at Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, and after showcasing the game’s naval combat, many believe (myself included) that Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii looks like a much better pirate game than Skull and Bones. Roll on February 21 when we can start exploring what is shaping up to be one of the best Xbox action-adventure games of the year and begin unlocking the Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii achievements. RGG Studio showcases exciting Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii naval combatNew RGG Like a Dragon Direct offers a 13-minute deep dive into Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in HawaiiRelease date: February 21, 2025Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PCDeveloper Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio shared loads of new information about Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii during its latest showcase. One of the highlights was the game’s naval combat, which fans think looks so much better than what Ubisoft’s pirate game Skull and Bones has to offer. According to RGG Studio, you will be able to fully customize your pirate ship, the Goromaru, with the hull, armor, sails, and figurehead all tailored to your tastes. You will also need to recruit a crew from over 100 different sea dogs who are willing to sail under the Jolly Roger and deepen their bonds by getting drunk, singing sea shanties, and going off on adventures. As for the actual naval combat, RGG Studio has, of course, put an over-the-top spin on ship-to-ship fighting that looks a lot of fun. You will be able to equip and upgrade your ship’s firepower with a menagerie of weird and wonderful cannons, such as flamethrower cannons, laser cannons, and even shark cannons. On top of this, Majima will also be able to use a rocket launcher stowed away in the crow’s nest, because, why not? Members of your crew also need to be assigned to either attacking or defending squads, as in Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, you can actually board and fight on other ships, unlike Skull and Bones. Once you’ve pulled up alongside an enemy ship, you and your attacking crew can swing across to the other ship’s deck and engage in all-out hand-to-hand combat in a bid to kill the enemy captain.
