After a rather successful first week in open beta, Team Jade has just revealed a new update for Delta Force that kicks off several in-game events all at once. With varying requirements across both Warfare and Operations modes and a multitude of rewards, it might be tricky to keep track of it all..
It’s safe to say that Delta Force has got off to a very strong start indeed. Released just last week, the new tactical FPS game has enjoyed high player counts, despite an early flurry of negative reviews largely concerned with its anti-cheat. It’s already received a couple of small updates for bug fixes and balancing changes, but the new Delta Force update is much bigger as it adds a grand total of eight in-game events – three spanning the upcoming weekend, and six that are longer in duration.
The three weekend events are fairly basic – they’re essentially three different log-in bonuses, truth be told. Simply by logging in between Friday, December 13 and Sunday, December 15, you can claim Weapon EXP Tokens, a piece of Level 3 gear, and the K416 assault rifle. Bonus rewards are also on offer if you play matches or use the K416 in battle.
Then there are the five longer-term events – two for Operations mode, and three for Warfare mode. In Operations, the new Toxic Shadows event gives you various missions to complete and asks you to investigate locations in the new Brakkesh map. As the name suggests, you have to do this while using Toxik, but in return you’ll unlock some “special voice lines” for this Delta Force operator. The other event is called The Gambler, and it tasks you with collecting poker card sets which you can exchange for either Armament Vouchers or a pink G18 – stylish.
Over in Warfare, the Heavy Metal event revolves around the vehicle-focused Hill of Iron mode. Complete missions in this mode while on the Cracked map to earn the Tanscape Tank cosmetic and other related rewards. Shafted Showdown, meanwhile, lets you earn skins for guns such as the MP5 and vehicles like the LAV-AA simply by completing objectives on the Shafted map. Lastly, there’s Arms Courier, which wants you to equip either the VSS or the K416 (which, as mentioned, you get for simply logging in) and use them to complete objectives. In return, you could bag yourself Armament Vouchers, a double XP card, or a Premium Weapon EXP Token.
On top of all the events, new weapon bundles are hitting the store, capture zones on the Trench Lines map have been expanded to make them slightly easier to take, and another batch of bug fixes arrive as well. You can check out all the changes arriving in the new Delta Force update here.
