The first-ever in-person Camp Localhost will take place in Philadelphia and St. Louis, with limited availability due to maintaining social distancing and COVID-19 measures. Moreover, the virtual summer camp also returns for another year and is expected to host over 160 gamers. The camps are planned to take place in June and July.
Ben Beaver, Youth Camps and Programming Senior Manager at Nerd Street Gamers commented: “Through Camp Localhost, we are thrilled to engage and connect with more gamers in both our virtual and in-person camps this summer.
“We’ve developed Camp Localhost programming with every gamer in mind – from hard-core to casual play – with unique opportunities and features, such as industry-leading coaches and professional-grade equipment.”

Each in-person camp session will run Monday through to Friday from 9am to 3pm each day. Parents and guardians will be able to sign up their child for just one singular week or multiple weeks. The price for the in-person camp is listed at $149 (~£105) per week, with tax also being added on for certain locations.
According to the release, the virtual camp is expected to feature ‘top-tier’ esports coaches and will provide a structured environment for participants over Discord. The camp will take place Monday through Friday from 12:30pm to 5:30pm each week. The virtual event has also been priced at $149.
Nerd Street Gamers has announced that the virtual camps will be organised and catered to each participant’s skill range, with players engaging in scrimmages, online play, video on demand reviews, as well as Q&As with industry experts.
Esports Insider Says: This is a super neat idea to introduce as the COVID-19 protocols across North America start to ease up. This sounds like a really cool experience that will teach young teenagers interested in esports all about different career paths available in the industry, whilst also boosting their gaming skills.
