MultiVersus’ discontinued Xbox achievements could soon be a thing of the past. A new leak suggests the free-to-play fighting game could be about to make its long-awaited return, which means we should finally be able to start unlocking the MultiVersus achievements again (assuming there’s not a new list) and can add it back to our list of the best free Xbox games. MultiVersus Xbox achievements might soon be unlockable againAfter launching into beta in July 2022, servers for MultiVersus were closed a year later, which discontinued all of the fighting game’s achievements. Developer Player First Games said at the time that MultiVersus full release was scheduled for “early 2024,” and it looks like we’re not too far away from seeing those servers come back online. As spotted by journalist Edmond Tran (thanks, VGC), the Australian McDonald’s website has begun advertising MultiVersus character tins to give away with Happy Meals, with the message, “coming soon… WB MultiVersus.” Another Twitter user recently spotted some MultiVersus packaging and promo materials in a McDonald’s in Canada, while a Redditor has also found a MultiVersus promo banner at their local McDonald’s. MultiVersus was wildly popular when it first launched. According to WB Games, over 20 million players downloaded the free-to-play crossover fighting game, which saw it jump into the top five of our Xbox Game Play Chart in its first week. However, as time went on, the player base started to wane, the addition of new characters started to slow, and eventually, Player First Games stopped releasing new updates, before it shut down the beta. This left us wondering what went wrong with MultiVersus? Hopefully, we’ll hear more news on MultiVersus’ full release soon.
