Motorola is expected to launch the Edge 50 Neo next month, and the phone was said to have a Dimensity 7300 chipset, according to an online retailer. Today, we received a confirmation that the midranger is really coming with the new Mediatek platform, as it appeared on Geekbench.
We can confirm the 4×2.5 GHz and 4×2.0 GHz core specs, which is the Dimensity 7300, used in the Razr 50 foldable (under the name 7300X). It will be an improvement over the Edge 40 Neo, which had a CPU with two units at 2.5 GHz, and the other six at 2.0 GHz.
The listing also confirmed once again an 8 GB RAM option and Android 14 out of the box, which are less than surprising.
A separate scorecard of a ThinkPhone 25 suggests that Motorola may rebadge the phone under its parent Lenovo brand. The reason for the suspicion is the identical chipset and overall performance results.
A new mid-range ThinkPhone would be most intriguing as the previous one, launched in January 2023, had a premium chipset. It was sold primarily as a B2B product, and we wonder whether the ThinkPhone 25 will also be business-first oriented with this somewhat unimpressive chip.
