Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) in for review

This is the Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) and as the name suggests, it has a stylus. But before we get into that, here’s a picture of the only accessory you get with the Moto G Stylus (2024) – a USB cable.

You’ll need to supply your own charger – the phone supports 30W wired and 15W wireless charging.

Onto the stylus then. It goes into the phone’s bottom right corner – the opposite side of the Galaxy S24 Ultra – there’s an interesting tidbit for you. And here’s another – Motorola’s stylus is the exact same length and nearly the same girth as the S Pen.

The similarities don’t end there either. Like the S Pen, the Moto G Stylus (2024)’s stylus is clickable. This doesn’t serve any purpose other than to make the small plastic thing feel more like a real pen. And it’s fun to click.

Unlike the S Pen, this stylus lacks a button and isn’t Bluetooth-enabled, so you can’t use it as a remote for the camera, for instance.

Motorola made big improvements to the stylus’ feature set. When you remove the stylus from the phone, you get a floating menu with customizable options – open a new note, take a screenshot, etc.

You can add or remove apps and settings from this menu, which is handy.

The stylus menu is extensive

Stylus aside, the Moto G Stylus (2024) feels solid in the hand. We have the Caramel Latte color and it comes with a vegan leather back. It’s soft to the touch and sits securely in the hand.

The 6.7-inch display is excellent – it’s sharp, bright, and fast. Then there are creature comforts like expandable storage, a big 5,000mAh battery, and stereo speakers. The camera system is respectable too – you get a 50MP main camera with PDAF and OIS, as well as a 13MP autofocusing ultrawide. Upfront sits a 32MP selfie.
