Game developer MOONTON Games has announced that its M6 Summit will take place alongside its M6 MLBB World Championship in Malaysia at the Putrajaya Marriot hotel.
The M6 Summit, currently in its third edition, will feature more than 200 business leaders, team owners, media partners and regulators in gaming and esports.
The one-day event is scheduled to take place on December 13th at the Putrajaya Marriot hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and will feature several speakers across gaming and esports. The conference will have sessions that intend to display MOONTON Game’s strategic initiatives to advance the gaming ecosystem across South East Asia (SEA) and beyond.
The M6 Summit will take place in the same city as of the M6 World Championship which runs from December 13th to 15th. The M6 World Championship is a Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) tournament that will feature 23 teams from across the world competing for a share of a $1m (~£799,000) prize pool. The tournament also received an endorsement from YB Adam Adli, Malaysia’s Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports.
Moreover, the summit will feature sessions from notable speakers including Malaysia’s Minister of Youth and Esports, alongside several MOONTON Games executives including Lucas Mao, Managing Director of MLBB Esports and Mike Chu, Head of China and Regional Esports Events.
MOONTON Games are also aiming to hold discussions with female esports players including the likes of Team Falcon and Vitality on initiatives to empower women in esports, in an attempt to ‘foster a diverse gaming ecosystem,’ according to a release.
Over the years, MOONTON Games have taken several initiatives to bolster Mobile Legends esports across the SEA esports landscape. In June, MOONTON Games expanded its existing deal with Saudi Arabian tourism project Qiddiya to expand MLBB esports. It is worth noting that Qiddiya also sponsor the M6 Summit.
According to a release, the company is aiming to drive a conversation around inclusivity, alongside ‘the commercialisation of esports, its long-term future and how delegates can together shape the industry.’
