Will we ever get another Dino Crisis game to look forward to? Series creator Shinji Mikami doesn’t appear to think so, as the director doesn’t feel like there is “a whole lot of space” for Dino Crisis while Monster Hunter is so popular. Dino Crisis creator is “surprised” that fans want more from the seriesHailed by many as “Resident Evil with dinosaurs,” players have been screaming for Capcom to return to the series, which hasn’t seen a new entry since 2003’s Xbox exclusive Dino Crisis 3. Capcom has been churning out incredible remakes from the aforementioned Resident Evil series for a few years now, and it’s only led to more players asking for the Dino Crisis series to receive similar treatment.Shinji Mikami, who directed the first Resident Evil and Dino Crisis games, has told Eurogamer that they’re “very surprised to hear” that fans want more Dino Crisis, considering the popularity of Monster Hunter.“The awesomeness of dinosaurs and the stuff you can do with dinosaurs, that’s been kind of really nailed down by Monster Hunter in recent years,” Mikami said. “So even if I were to decide to make a remake or a new version of Dino Crisis, I don’t really feel like there’s a whole lot of space for that kind of game right now, just since Monster Hunter has become such a big game. But yeah, it is surprising.”While Dino Crisis continues to be MIA from Capcom, Saber Interactive is developing what sounds like an epic first-person Jurassic Park experience, and we’re looking forward to exploring Jurassic Park: Survival.
