It seems PlayStation players get a number of exclusive Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II “benefits,” including free bundles and monthly double XP events.Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is out today, and offers a number of “exclusive benefits” for PlayStation players, including a PlayStation party bonus.Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II outlines PlayStation exclusive “benefits”The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II team has detailed the benefits PlayStation players can expect over on the Call of Duty site (thanks, CharlieIntel). These include exclusive monthly double XP events, which last for 24 hours each time, as well as a PlayStation party bonus that offers PlayStation players who play together in parties 25% bonus weapon XP — “the bonus still counts when playing with cross-platform teammates.”PlayStation players who reach level four and unlock Create-A-Class will also get two extra loadout slots, and, if they buy a Battle Pass bundle, will also get an extra five tier skips. Lastly, a free in-game bundle for every season, which includes things like skins and weapon blueprints, will be available for a “limited time only for PlayStation Plus members.”It’s of course not the first time that a game has been associated with PlayStation exclusives in some way — Hogwarts Legacy’s PlayStation exclusive quest won’t hit Xbox for a year, for example, while the Silent Hill 2 remake is a timed PS5 console exclusive. Following on from its efforts to acquire Activision Blizzard, Microsoft gave Sony a signed agreement guaranteeing Call of Duty on PlayStation for “at least several more years.” PlayStation’s Jim Ryan then called this offer “inadequate on many levels”, adding that the proposal “failed to take account of the impact” on PlayStation players. Another report also suggested that existing marketing deals could stop Call of Duty coming to Game Pass even if Microsoft’s Activision Blizzard buyout does go ahead. What do you make of these “exclusive benefits” for PlayStation players? Let us know in the comments.
