MLB Twitter called out New York Yankees reliever Brooks Kriske after a horrendous tenth inning helped the Boston Red Sox walk it off.

The New York Yankees were enjoying great success following the MLB All-Star break, where they won four of five games entering Thursday night. They even managed to take two of three from their series against the Boston Red Sox. But the Yankees looked to continue building upon their newfound luck against the Red Sox, and it ended in disaster.

New York held a 4-3 lead entering the bottom of the10th inning after Brett Gardner hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the frame. Yankees manager Aaron Boone decided to call upon reliever Brooks Kriske to close out the game. The problem is, Kriske carried a 10.50 ERA through seven games. What could possibly go wrong? A lot.

Kriske managed to throw four wild pitches on his first nine throws, and it resulted in the Red Sox scoring two runs to win the game. It is safe to say that MLB Twitter had zero remorse for Kriske for his horrendous outing.

Boone called upon Kriske to relieve Chad Green, who pitched in the ninth inning after he surrendered a two-run double by Enrique Hernandez to send the game into extras. With Rafael Devers starting the bottom of the tenth on second, Kriske threw two consecutive wild pitches to allow the Red Sox third baseman to score and tie it. Kriske then walked Xander Bogaerts, only to throw two more wild pitches to send him to third.

After striking out J.D. Martinez, Kriske surrendered a sacrifice fly to Hunter Renfroe to allow the Red Sox to walk it off at Fenway Park.

The Yankees will look to bounce back with three games remaining in the series. There have been some bad losses (i.e. that disastrous Houston Astros defeat prior to the All-Star break), but this one may have made it’s way to the top of the list.
