Microsoft has scored another home run as Sony’s San Diego Studio has revealed that MLB The Show 22 will launch for Xbox consoles later this year and join Xbox Game Pass on day one. The baseball sim launches for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and joins Xbox Game Pass (including Xbox Cloud Gaming) on April 5th. San Diego Studio says that both editions will be included with Game Pass “so members will be able to play the best version of the game regardless of which console they are on.” MLB The Show 22 will also feature cross-platform play and cross-progress so you can play against other players on different platforms and use items and content you’ve unlocked across platforms and console generations. In terms of new features, San Diego Studio hasn’t said much, but it will be revealing more soon on MLB The Show 22 in several deep-dive videos that will be shared on Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook. However, what has been revealed is the game’s preorder details. The Xbox Series X|S Standard Edition ($69.99) comes with 5,000 Stubs and five The Show Packs, while the Xbox One Standard Edition ($59.99) comes with just the 5,000 Stubs. Players who wish to upgrade from the Xbox One Standard Edition to the Xbox Series X|S Standard Edition at a later date will need to pay a $10 charge. This can also only be done using the digital version of the game. MLB The Show 22 launches for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and joins Xbox Game Pass on April 5th.
