On March 7, during his working visit to the Netherlands, Ukraine’s Defence Minister Rustem Umerov met with his Dutch counterpart, Ruben Brekelmans.
The parties discussed enhancing defense cooperation and reinforcing practical collaboration in the security sector. Both ministers reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to the partnership between the two countries.
The key outcome of the talks was the Netherlands’ decision to allocate €700 million for drones to support Ukraine. The ministers also discussed the ‘Drone Line’ project, which helps scale up modern combat experience. The Dutch side reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the initiative and contributing to its expansion.
The particular focus of the meeting was enhancing air defense. The parties discussed specific measures to enhance Ukraine’s ability to effectively counter russian missile and drone attacks.
“The Netherlands stands as one of the leading supporters of Ukraine, and this support remains unwavering. I express my gratitude to Ruben Brekelmans and the entire team of the Dutch Ministry of Defence for their decisive stance, swift decisions, and tangible support,” emphasized Rustem Umerov.
