It’s been the topic of contention between Microsoft and Sony since Microsoft first announced its plans to acquire Activision Blizzard for $69 billion earlier this year, but according to a recent report, the two firms met over the weekend to discuss the ongoing dispute.Microsoft reportedly met with Sony to assure them that Activision’s games will remain on PlayStationMicrosoft said earlier this year that a deal between Activision and Sony prevented Call of Duty from joining the list of games coming to Game Pass, but the real dispute is currently focused on whether the series would become exclusive to Xbox or not. According to a report on Seeking Alpha, Microsoft met with Sony over the weekend to assure the PlayStation firm that it’ll keep Activision’s games on the console.At this point, it’s beginning to look like Microsoft is caught between a rock and a hard place, as the company scrambles to appease both regulators and Sony to try and push through its proposed deal. According to a report last week, the FTC is apparently likely to file an antitrust lawsuit to block the deal.Whether the meeting was to discuss the proposed ten-year Call of Duty deal is yet to be revealed, but we’ll keep you updated if anything changes.
