Mets answer to front office drama is another idiotic decision

The New York Mets are the best team in baseball at making bad decisions after bad decisions.

In the wake of the Thumbs Down Movement and general manager Zack Scott’s DUI arrest, the New York Mets are once again making news more well-run organizations would not be making.

So we know that Scott has been placed on administrative leave after his arrest in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Team president Sandy Alderson will also be filling in for him for the time being. And if that was not enough, apparently, Alderson’s son Bryn is going to be more involved in the day-to-day responsibilities of the Mets front office. Nepotism is clearly the Mets’ panacea.

The younger Alderson has been the assistant pro director of scouting under previous Mets general manager Brodie Van Wagenen since 2017. He has been in the organization for over a decade now.

The Mets are a content machine masquerading as a professional baseball franchise these days. It is truly unbelievable. They literally cannot go even one day without an accident in the workplace. I understand that this is New York and dysfunction tends to run rampant inside of its professional sports organizations, but the Mets are making the Phil Jackson New York Knicks look competent.

When the Wilpons sold the team to Steve Cohen, we naively thought the Mets would stop being the Mets. Instead, A-Rod and J-Lo broke up, she got back with Ben Affleck and he decided to buy the Minnesota Timberwolves. At this point, what is stopping the Mets from calling up Tim Tebow from the Binghamton Rumble Ponies to sell merchandise in their final month of a wasted season?

The shame in it all is Mike and the Mad Dog are not on the air together for WFAN to harpoon them.
