Longtime Metroid fans can learn why bounty hunter Samus is wearing a new suit in her latest entry with the latest trailer for Nintendo’s Metroid Dread.
Originally making its appearance in Metroid Fusion for the Game Boy Advance, the X Parasite is a dangerous life form that possesses the ability to mimic its prey. Although it was thought to be extinct, the Galactic Federation has got word from a transmission that suggests otherwise. To deal with this threat, seven different Extraplanetary Multiform Mobile Identifier Robots (or E.M.M.I.s for short) were sent out to investigate the planet ZDR. However, communication with these robots soon ceased.

Note that this trailer will be followed up with a second trailer that sheds more light on August 27, 2021.
Metroid Dread will have to contend with these E.M.M.I. robots by hiding, reducing the amount of noise that she makes, and using the Phantom Cloak. If spotted, players must perform a melee counter and escape, lest they face death.
The final release of the game will come out for the Nintendo Switch on October 8, 2021.
