The team at Leikir Studio and Dotemu announced on Twitter that Metal Slug Tactics has been delayed to 2023.
The official statement behind the delay was due to the team wanting to make this title as “explosive as possible on release,” which will require a bit more time. You can read it below:
Marco, Eri, Fio, and Tarma are tinkering away to make #MetalSlugTactics as explosive as possible on release, but the squad needs a bit more time in the shop to prepare for the battles ahead. See you in 2023! @LeikirStudio x @Dotemu

A tactical RPG with roguelike elements, Metal Slug Tactics features a new perspective where players build up their adrenaline bar to unlock super attacks. From there, players can cash out their war experience after each battle to unlock weapons and bonus perks, upgrading their team’s firepower.
True to the series, its pixel art and fluid animation faithfully channel the series’ timeless aesthetic. Tee Lopes (Sonic Mania, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge) has also been brought on to do the music.
Metal Slug Tactics will come out for the Nintendo Switch and PC.
