For the first time since July last year, there is a new update to download for Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The February update includes a fix for one of the broken Halo: The Master Chief Collection achievements in Halo 3 and a few other improvements. The highlight, for many on this website at least, is that the February update includes a fix for the Phantom Hunter achievement. This achievement requires you to destroy three Phantoms on the Halo 3 campaign level, The Covenant, and as far as we can tell, it was broken with the game’s last update in July 2023. Well, after seven months, it has now been fixed, and we’re seeing reports of the achievement unlocking correctly once more. Elsewhere in the update, 343 has made improvements to hit registration and projectile speed in Halo 2 classic multiplayer online matches, and multiplayer squads should “no longer become stuck if the squad leader leaves the lobby during the ‘Checking for rejoin’ state.
