Make it Fly is, shockingly, a game about making something fly. You put the pieces together and then catapult your contraption over a course in order to get to the finish line. Of course, it’s a little bit more complex than that.
Which is why we’ve written this guide. It’s packed full of the best hints, tips and tricks that we’ve discovered during our time playing Make it Fly. Some of them are obvious, others are a little more in-depth, but all of them are going to help you make your plane fly even farther.
Even if you’ve put together a few flying machines already, we reckon you’re going to find the strategies here pretty darn helpful. And for new players they’re going to set you in good stead to win. So here are the five best hints, tips and tricks for Make it Fly.
Remember to build
You need to rebuild your plane at the start of every new level. Tap the build button at the bottom of the screen and slot all the pieces into place. Sometimes there are items you can’t use, and the game will blank them out so you know you can’t attach them to your contraption.
Focus on your slingshot and engine
When it comes to upgrade, you should focus on the slingshot and the engine. These are the two most important things in the game, and while it can be tempting to increase your bonus, you’re going to be in a lot of trouble if you do that early in the game. Instead, spend whatever you get on your slingshot and engine.
The game tells you when you’re not powerful enough
If, at the start of a level, there are red exclamation point icons on your slingshot or engine, then you know that you’re not going to be powerful enough to get to the end of the level. At times like this you can either spend some coins or watch some videos to make your plane more powerful.
Get more coins
When you’ve completed a level it’s a good idea to watch a video to increase the amount of coins you receive. More coins means more upgrades and if you don’t have enough to upgrade your plane for the next level you’re likely to find yourself grinding a few tries to get more. It’s better to watch videos to get more coins than to keep watching them to upgrade your slingshot and engine.
Change your angle
In some levels you’re going to have to change the angle of your shot to make sure you’re not barging into obstacles. When you’ve failed to get to the end because you’ve hit something, think about how you might shift your direction at the start in order to avoid it. You usually don’t have to shift by much, but it can make all the difference.
