Lollipop Chainsaw is officially coming back from the dead! Dragami Games has announced that a remake of the cult-favourite hack & slash game is in development and is expected to release in 2023.The Lollipop Chainsaw Remake was announced in a tweet by Dragami Games’ Yoshimi Yasuda, who also teased the game’s return last month. Lollipop Chainsaw Remake releases in 2023According to Yasuda, Dragami Games has purchased the Lollipop Chainsaw IP from Kadokawa Games, and publisher Warner Bros. is supporting Dragami “in this endeavour.” The original development team is apparently working on the remake, but Yasuda has warned that some things in the remake will differ from the original game. The first big difference will be with the game’s soundtrack — the original features 15 licensed games that won’t be included in the remake, so we can expect a new soundtrack. Yasuda also notes, “Since we have access to consoles with higher specifications, we will be taking a more realistic approach to graphics this time.”Yasuda rounds off his post, saying, “Our goal is to make it easier for gamers who want to play Lollipop Chainsaw to do so. Please look forward to the game’s 2023 release.”Unfortunately, Yasuda hasn’t confirmed platforms for Lollipop Chainsaw Remake. What do you make of this news?
