Bjergsen will be joining a new team for the first time in eight years. Meanwhile, SwordArt will be on the move after one year in North America.

Despite the 2021 World Championship still ongoing for the East, the Western transfer window is already in full swing. In the last 24 hours, TSM has announced the departures of both 2021 Head Coach Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg and veteran support Hu “SwordArt” Shuo-Chieh.

Starting with Bjergsen, it was announced earlier in the offseason that one of the greatest LCS players of all time will be coming out of retirement. It was heavily expected Bjergsen would re-sign with TSM, given his already established relationship with the org as well as having shares in the company.

This was not to be the case. Late last night, TSM released an announcement video, stating Bjergsen has declined TSM’s offer to re-sign for the 2022 season as a player. This means that, for the first time in eight years, Bjergsen will be lining up on the Rift not in a TSM jersey. Currently, there is no official confirmation for Bjergsen’s next team. However, Tyler Erzberger of Upcomer has reported that Team Liquid is looking to acquire Bjergsen’s services and are trialing Jensen at ADC.

SwordArt follows suit

Moving onto SwordArt, it was also reported last night that the veteran support would be leaving the seven-time LCS champions after just one season in North America. SwordArt joined TSM during the 2021 offseason in a $6 million deal. The report was officially confirmed on Twitter when TSM announced SwordArt’s departure. While the season started off rough for SwordArt and TSM, the former Worlds finalist came into his element and was close to securing their second Worlds appearance in as many years. It is unclear where SwordArt will end up as he is now on the hunt for a new team.
